Overview
We are looking for a senior commercial and partnership professional to lead the company’s business development and strategic partnership activities in Vietnam. This is not a pure sales role. The position combines commercial leadership, pharma client development, healthcare organization partnerships, proposal shaping, and team leadership. The role will lead the Vietnam BD/Partnership team (currently 3–4 members) while driving client growth, strategic healthcare collaborations, and regional business development opportunities across Southeast Asia.Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Commercial Leadership
- Lead the company’s business development strategy in Vietnam
- Identify priority client segments, therapeutic areas, and market opportunities
- Build relationships with pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, and development-sector partners
- Initiate strategic discussions with potential clients and partners
- Translate client needs into partnership concepts and commercial opportunities
- Manage the commercial pipeline from opportunity identification through proposal, negotiation, and closure
- Support achievement of quarterly and annual revenue targets
- Coach BD team members on commercial thinking and client management
- Manage and strengthen relationships with pharmaceutical companies, medical affairs teams, marketing/brand teams, digital teams, and healthcare organizations
- Develop new client relationships and long-term partnership models
- Understand client objectives and recommend relevant solutions
- Identify upselling and strategic collaboration opportunities
- Support review meetings, annual planning discussions, and proposal presentations
- Lead proposal development and commercial solution design
- Understand client briefs and business objectives
- Coordinate with medical, operations, product, and finance teams
- Ensure proposals are commercially viable and operationally feasible
- Support quotation, pricing, and commercial negotiations
- HCP engagement programs
- CME/CPD initiatives
- Omnichannel campaigns
- Medical education journeys
- HCO-led educational collaborations
- Multi-country healthcare programs
- Digital engagement and insight-driven solutions
- Build partnerships with hospitals, medical associations, universities, Departments of Health, professional councils, specialty societies, and KOLs
- Identify and prioritize strategic healthcare organization partners
- Support partnership discussions and contracting processes
- Strengthen the company’s visibility and credibility within Vietnam’s healthcare ecosystem
- Identify and engage relevant KOLs across therapeutic areas
- Support CME programs, webinars, advisory discussions, and educational initiatives
- Maintain strong relationships with healthcare experts and speakers
- Lead and develop the Vietnam BD/Partnership team
- Coach team members on client communication, proposal development, and stakeholder engagement
- Build a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Review pipeline progress and support problem-solving across opportunities
- Ensure timely follow-up, reporting, and documentation
- Support regional business development initiatives and proposals
- Collaborate with teams across Southeast Asia markets
- Contribute Vietnam market insights to regional commercial strategy
- Participate in regional partnership discussions when needed
- Share client and market feedback with leadership and product teams
- Identify opportunities to strengthen healthcare engagement solutions, analytics, CRM integration, CME management, and reporting capabilities
- Support localization of commercial offerings for the Vietnam market
Candidate Profile
Must-have- Strong experience in business development, partnerships, commercial, or marketing roles within healthcare/pharma-related industries
- Background in healthcare, pharma, life sciences, digital health, medical communications, or agency environments
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing teams and commercial pipelines
- Strong proposal development and strategic thinking capabilities
- Good understanding of Vietnam’s healthcare ecosystem
- Native Vietnamese speaker with good English communication skills
- Existing network within pharmaceutical companies or healthcare organizations in Vietnam
- Experience with medical affairs, marketing, omnichannel, or HCP engagement initiatives
- Experience managing partnerships with hospitals, societies, universities, or healthcare stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Commercially driven yet relationship-oriented
- Strategic but hands-on
- Proactive, accountable, and execution-focused
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and fast-moving priorities
- Capable of representing the company professionally with senior stakeholders
- Interested in building long-term partnerships rather than transactional sales
